It's Monday– basically the worst ay of the week. You probably didn't get to sleep in at all because you had to get up for work, and there's a lack of inner peace when you don't get to sleep in. Mondays can feel whimsical despite the lack of sleep because they're the liminal space between the beginning of the week and the end of your weekend. You just had free time to do what you want, whether it's to rest, see friends, or sit in bed and scroll. Forest critters carry a whimsy too, they're soft, adorable, and don't play by the industrialized rules of cities or clocks. The moment you step in a forest and see these critters, the light changes. Leaf patterns, bunny tails bouncing away, and the greenery of trees hanging down in beautiful delight. There's something playful about the way a forest arranges itself. Mushrooms appear overnight like tiny parasols. Ferns unfurl in slow spirals, delicate and precise. Moss creeps over stones and fallen logs, transforming rough edges into velvet. Even tree trunks lean and twist with personality, as though each one chose its posture deliberately. Nothing is perfectly symmetrical, yet everything feels balanced, just like these forest critters.
